Convention 2001 - Head Vase Odyssey

Saturday Morning, January 20
The Saturday show/sell was great fun!! I've never seen SO MANY
heads all in one room, and beautiful ones - of course I wanted to
have them all!! I'd say Maddy's Convention 2001 was a huge success! I believe
there were 40-50 dealers with tables full of heads. Dealers set-up time
was 7:00 AM so I browsed around after I got my little table all set up.
I ended up buying 3 really nice heads that were on my wish list.
Some of the dealers marked their heads down 20 percent during the
last half hour of the show - I bought my Napco Christmas head then.
Below are 3 more pictures from the show/sell. The dealers
each had a table full of heads. I can never resist the collection
that Blake has - where does he come up with these, his are ALWAYS
in super mint condition and I had to really control myself from
not buying more. Blake drove from Houston with all these heads,
what a job that must have been to pack them all up, and moving
them from the room show/sell down to the banquet room today.
I met a lot of the other sellers that I've seen in the head hunters
news letter, everyone had a great time. My table was right
next to the Cameo Girls table so I took many orders for them as
I had sold out the night before with the ones that I brought with me.
Also my tall lady vases were a big hit - I sold out of all that I
had and also displayed some pictures from the series 2 collection of them that should be in sometime
in February.

Blake, Mary and her husband Bob - Mary is in my Collector's Corner
and this is the first time her and I had met. It's like we've
been friends forever. Mary found the Victorian head that she had
on her wish list as well as 2 other beauties. I think Bob has
become a collector too!
This is my table - I only had new things to bring. Along with
the Tall Lady Vases and Cameo Girls that sold, the Limoges Boxes and
Ladymoges Heads were well liked too!
